When you’re a junior in college and a song like “The Freshmen” means so much more than it actually does, mostly because you’re listening to it over and over with a girl who also imagines herself and you in it, and you both somehow know that every time you hear this song for the rest of your lives you’ll think of lying in bed with each other, baking brie together, imagining the selves you might become, knowing even then that you won’t know each other’s future selves.
